Apart from digital transformation and automating workflows, it is interesting what happens as more people get online. Apart from posting not so relevant photos on Instagram, users start to engage with other platforms and tools. For example, some discover Reddit and participate actively in the communities, providing insights as well as asking questions regarding their needs. On the other side, startups leverage those pain points, information and increased internet activity so that they build a platform that can be sustained online and not only used by a few evangelists. Spending more on ads and so on, so that it becomes a circle

Yes, although not officially labeled as a "cartel", it is a closed profession that for years has fought against modernization.

Thankfully, we have a new generation of Greek taxi drivers that are more forward-looking.

The number of taxi licenses remains capped and the process of obtaining (i.e. purchasing) one is very problematic, with few individuals owning a high number of licenses and renting them out to other drivers (who make only a small cut).

I was once talking with a taxi driver while on a ride. He was telling me how his son couldn't find many opportunities in Greece and needed to move abroad. After the ride ended, I thought to myself, wait a minute. This guy is probably against platforms like Uber. I have met people in other countries who make a significant amount of income from that activity alone, either preferring to be Uber drivers instead of working in Food & Beverage or complementing another job.

Imagine his son going abroad to be an Uber driver 🤡 Uber isn't the bad guy here, we (the taxi drivers) have the issue
